It was the perfect day for a romantic summer picnic in Cleveland for Caitlin and John’s engagement portraits! Caitlin packed the CUTEST cheese board! They really made a day date out of the occasion! It was such a sweet way to celebrate their engagement and practicing being in front of the camera before their wedding day. They were totally naturals in front of the camera!

Engagement Portraits at Cleveland’s North Chagrin Reservation

After taking a few portraits at Squire’s Castle at North Chagrin Reservation we decided to change it up a bit and do something a little different. Originally we’d been planning to take a few more photos there, but I was SO glad they trusted my vision as a photographer! Earlier when I was driving to the castle, I found this gorgeous, flowy tall grass with just the right sunlight to add warmth to their cozy picnic. Caitlin and John were game and it was literal perfection!

After their cozy picnic engagement portraits, we jumped in our cars and started to drive to the second location. On the way, I spotted the cutest gazebo surrounded by beautiful, white azalea bushes. We pulled over for a few quick portraits, and a ring photo perfectly framed in florals! Anddd some of those may be my favorites!

A Rocky Beach and Perfect Sunset in Cleveland’s Sims Park

For the rest of their engagement session, John and Caitlin chose Cleveland’s Sims Park, which has a gorgeous rocky beach. By the time we arrived, the sun was setting quickly. We were losing light, so we had to work quickly! After a couple fun, casual photos, we paused for an outfit change. Caitlin wore the most beautiful teal gown that flowed effortlessly on the windy beach. And John looked so handsome in his grey suit jacket! Although we were working quickly, we got an awesome variety of timeless, romantic engagement portraits. Even though I’m from Ohio, I’m still finding all new locations I’ve never thought of! And this Cleveland engagement session was a perfect introduction to some great new locations. I’m thrilled with how they turned out!
